TCA’s Thomas signs to play baseball at Union
JACKSON, Tenn — Trinity Christian Academy’s Tyler Thomas put his name on the dotted line Friday morning, agreeing to play baseball for Union University next season.
Thomas said it’s something he’s worked his entire life.
“Staying after practice, I would go and take some swings in the cage and just do some stuff,” Thomas explained Friday with his newly donned red “U” hat. “Doing things on your own really like made the difference for me. It’s always been a dream of mine to play college baseball, and so, you know, just working hard the last few years and it finally paying off is a great feeling.”
Thomas, who’s mother works at Union, said he’s already got a good comfort level with the campus, and hopes the transition to the college game will be as easy as his transition to a campus he’s already familiar with.
