“I love the younger children. They laugh at my jokes, and I can have fun with them.”

And having fun with her students is Janda’s favorite thing about being a teacher.

“If they look back and remember their preschool year, I want them to know that they have fun in class and they had three teachers that loved them,” Janda said.

Janda said in order to keep her students enjoying class, they are constantly moving around and laughing.

“We’re up and down,” she said. “They love the smart board, so there’s a lot of songs on there that we do. A lot of movement — they love to sing and dance.”20160810_093303

She said she just loves being in the classroom and that that’s what keeps her spirits high every day.

“These children really need us. Sometimes their home life isn’t all that great, and I just enjoy coming in here, seeing and having my friends that I teach with. These young children, I just love them.”

Janda will now be eligible for the statewide Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Month award.
