Prosecutor wants more information in fatal police shooting
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A prosecutor has asked for more information in the investigation of a fatal police shooting involving a white officer and an armed African-American man.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced last week that it had finished its investigation into the Feb. 10 shooting of 31-year-old Jocques Scott Clemmons by Nashville Police Officer Josh Lippert. The agency turned over its findings to Nashville District Attorney General Glenn Funk.
Funk spokeswoman Dorinda Carter said in an email to The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/2oskEJc) that the prosecutor has asked the bureau to do some follow-up to its investigation.
Funk will decide whether to present the case to a grand jury.
Authorities say Lippert shot Clemmons in the back following a traffic stop.
