Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Week: Jessica Flood

ALAMO, Tenn. —  This week’s Educator of the Week presented by the Tennessee Education Lottery is from Crockett County.

Jessica Flood has been an educator now for five years. All five years have been at Alamo City School. She started there as a second grade teacher but has been a first grade teacher for the past four years.

Flood’s favorite part about teaching is watching the kids come in during the first day of class and leaving with a wealth of knowledge on the last day of school.

Flood knew from an early age that her destiny was in education. “I would go home and act like my teacher and play school,” she said.

Each teacher had a lasting impression on Flood. “All of my elementary school teachers. I liked all of them, because ever since I was little I wanted to be a teacher, so each year my teacher was my favorite teacher, then the next year my next teacher was my favorite teacher.”

Flood is now eligible to be the Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Month. Starting in June, to vote for her or any of the other nominees, visit www.seehowitaddsup.com.
