Accused gunman faces attempted murder charge in weekend shooting
JACKSON, Tenn. — A suspected gunman in a Sunday shooting who was captured Wednesday afternoon faces an attempted murder charge.
After being loaded into an ambulance, the victim told police Taylor had shot him, according to an affidavit.
Police say other witnesses identified Taylor as being in an argument with the victim minutes before the shooting.
A man who identified himself as Braxton Taylor called the police department later that evening and asked if he “had warrants,” according to court documents.
Taylor was taken into custody around noon Wednesday in the 200 block of East Forest Avenue, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department.
Taylor is charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
