Casey Jones Village in Jackson held a special grand opening for its
new museum, Friday. Casey Jones leaders also unveiled a brand new
exhibit hall.
The new museum
opened back in June, but the official
celebration is this weekend. Festivities continue through
Sunday. Some
of the events include live music, storytellers and
even Civil War re-enactors.
Leaders said the museum is something you have to see to believe. "What we've added is an all-new 8,000 square foot train station that resembles a turn of the century train station like Casey Jones himself would have rolled into in the rural South in 1900," said Clark Shaw, museum designer. "And of course, in this station, we've been able to dramatically expand all the museum, the collection and add a lot more
