Three men are out on bond
Monday night after police say they vandalized mailboxes
and yards as well as tried to steal a car in a Cedar
Grove neighborhood. Everything is back to normal, but
residents are still wondering why the three men
allegedly terrorized their road last Friday morning.
"Why the would come over here and do that; why they
would tear up people's mailboxes and steal people's
cars, I don't know why?" questioned Misty Davis, who
lives in Cedar Grove.
Davis said she saw a man
driving her car out of her driveway. She ran out to stop
them, and she said the man hopped in a truck with two
other men and left. A few minutes later they came back.
"They preceded to tell me their name and get out of the
truck and come up on the porch saying 'You didn't call
the law did you? We're just messing with you. This ain't
nothing to be concerned about,'" said Davis.
According to Henderson
County Sheriff Brian Duke, the three men were arrested.
Jonathan Tomlin, 25, Brandon Crowe, 24, and James Kyle
Blakney, 25, are facing multiple counts of mailbox
tampering charges as well as vandalism charges.
Davis believed the three men
had been drinking. "They seemed very drunk. One of them
actually had a beer in their hands," said Davis.

Davis' home was not the only
one the suspects targeted Friday morning. Investigators
say the men also traveled along the road and vandalized
several mailboxes and yards. Sheriff Duke believed what
helped them solve the case is the Neighborhood Watch
group. "We had observant neighbors and victims who took
the time to notice and observe some things that helped
us identify these people," said Duke.
Davis said she hopes the men
pay for what they did. "Just having a
good time they [the suspects] said at other people's
expense," said Davis.
good time they [the suspects] said at other people's
expense," said Davis.
Most of the mailboxes have
been repaired. The men will face a judge Tuesday,
November 3.
