A fallen Jackson police officer was recognized Friday for his service to the city. 
 
Sergeant Andy Bailey was recognized with Union University's Distinguished Service Award. Bailey, who was a 1976 graduate of Union, was killed in the line of duty five years ago.  His daughter, Brooke accepted the award on behalf of the family.  She said she is thankful that the community still remembers her father.
 

"It still brings so many emotions for me and my family, said Brooke Bailey\, daughter of Andy. "I'm just so grateful for the Jackson community."
 
Also recognized during the ceremony, Union math professor Don Richard, who received the Distinguished Faculty-Staff Award.  Also, members of the Class  of 1960 were recognized, as they are celebrating their 50th class reunion this weekend.
