Jackson police said the 15-year-old who they believe is responsible for the June death of Eduardo Martinez has been arrested.
Investigators said the teen
was stopped in Springfield, Ill. around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
He is being held in the county's juvenile center
until he is extradited back to Jackson.
Officers believe he forced
Martinez and his nephew to drive from a convenience
store parking lot to Melrose Street, where officers said he
fatally shot Martinez after he refused to give him money.
The teen's name has not been released, but officers said he
will face two counts of carjacking, especially aggravated
kidnapping, attempted aggravated robbery and felony murder.
