Students Honored

Dozens of high school
juniors were honored as the top of their class in
Madison County, Thursday night.
During a special
dinner at the Jackson Country Club, the top 10
juniors from every public and private high school in
the county were recognized as Tennessee Leaders of
Tomorrow. Each honoree received a certificate to
commemorate their achievement. Their parents and
school counselors were also invited to attend.
The Madison County
University of Tennessee Alumni Association sponsored
the event. Leaders of the group said they hope the
students will chose to continue their educations in
the Volunteer State. "It's very important to our
economy and future jobs that we have well educated
people," said Carol Kirkland.
Kirkland added this
type of recognition looks very appealing on college
applications.
