The trial date has been set for one of three people in the 2009 first-degree murder of a 61-year-old woman.

John Freeland, 27 will face a judge and jury March 23. He, along with Marcus Thompson and Tashundra Mosely face five different counts, including first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping. Trial dates for Thompson and Mosely have not been set.

Investigators believe the three kidnapped Carolyn Ward from the parking lot of Fred's in Henderson on March 7 of last year, then murdered her. If convicted, each could face the death penalty.
