Tom Meiners
Meteorologist
Tom Meiners joined the 7 Eyewitness Weather Team in July 2012.
Tom is a proud graduate of North Carolina State University (Go Wolfpack!) and is from Long Island, New York.
As a young child, Tom made it his hobby to research online weather sources to try and determine for his peers if the next day would be a snow day. Who knew that one day he would do that for a living. He is excited to come to West Tennessee and experience the weather of the southeast (especially the humidity), along with the occasional snow storm.
He recently won a first-place award from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas for "Best Student Weathercast" for his time spent at UNC-Chapel Hill, on the student run news broadcast "Carolina Week".
In his spare time, Tom enjoys music (he plays guitar and trumpet), the outdoors and trying out all of the different foods made famous in the south (especially BBQ).
