Heather Mathis

Heather Mathis joined the WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Team as a reporter in September of 2012 and is happy to make Jackson her new home. Heather can be seen Saturday and Sunday evenings anchoring WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News on ABC & CBS, as well as weeknights reporting for WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News at 10.

Heather is a native of Middle Tennessee and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, Heather worked as a Reporter/Weather Forecaster for MTSU's student news station MT10 and interned at WZTV Fox 17 in Nashville.

On top of her passion for journalism, Heather is earning her second bachelors degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University online.

When Heather is not busy reporting, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends and cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats!
