Erik Taylor joined the 7 Eyewitness Weather Team in December 2013 as the Weekend Meteorologist. You can see him on our evening shows Saturday at 6 and 10 PM and Sunday at 5:30 and 10 p.m.
Erik moved half way across the country to begin his broadcasting career here in beautiful West Tennesee. He comes from a small town in New Jersey – Pemberton - known for its blueberries and cranberries. Watching crops grow and weather change in the Garden State led him to study meteorology and horticulture (turf and agriculture) at Rutgers University.
At school, he became an on air meteorologist for Rutgers WeatherWatcher shows and developed a love of presenting weather in understandable ways. Erik interned at CBS3 in Philadelphia (KYW-TV) and his experiences in the 4th largest television market in the United States allowed him to understand that weather is more than just atmospheric processes. Television weather is a way to connect with a community, educate, save lives, and serve as the station scientist.
In Erik’s free time, he enjoys running, rowing, swimming, biking, and anything that deals with the great outdoors. He loves helping viewers with their gardening challenges and can’t wait to take in some country music concerts. If you have any questions or viewer photos you can email him at: firstname.lastname@example.org or follow him on Twitter @wbbj7erik.
