2007 Dodge Dakota

Revised in '05, the mid-size Dakota receives minor tweaks
for 2007 including a standard dual-position tailgate and Brilliant Black or
Electric Blue paint. The optional 4.7-liter V-8 offers E85/flex-fuel capability,
the standard 3.7-liter V-6 gets drive-by-wire throttle control, 18-inch wheels
are optional on SLT and Laramie models, turn signals get automatic "three-blink"
function and a new chrome accent package is available for the SLT and Laramie
models. It adds chrome tubular side steps, fuel filler door, hood deflector, and
exhaust tip. The Dakota comes in rear- and four-wheel-drive models and offers a
choice of two-door, five-passenger Club Cab with a 6'6" bed and four-door,
six-passenger Quad Cab versions with a 5'3" bed. The base engine remains a
3.7-liter V-6 that generates 210 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque. The
optional 4.7-liter Magnum V-8 generates 230 horsepower. A five-speed manual
transmission is standard across the line, while a choice of four- and five-speed
automatic gearboxes is also available. The five-speed automatic includes a
unique dual-ratio second gear for better power management in towing, passing,
and grade-change situations. Max tow rating is 7150 pounds.
