JACKSON, Tenn. - North Side High School science teacher, Robbi Ashbaugh loves education.
"In my desire to educate my students about science and biology and make sure they get a good educations and get rid of any misconceptions they may have," said Ashbaugh.
Ashbaugh was originally a Zoology major, and she said after two years in the field, she decided she wanted to help others learn science.
"I remember hearing people saying negative things about their teachers and I thought you know there's a lot of good teachers out there so I decided to change my major," said Ashbaugh
This educator said teaching science can be difficult but having fun and keep the classroom entertaining is her key for success.
She said, "We laugh everyday and we goof around I smile everyday and say hello, we have motivation which encourages them to get over any problems they may have."
Ashbaugh told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness news that she tries to relate with her students and get to know them.
"I keep myself on their level, I don't act like I'm better than them or that I know more than them. We discuss different things and I'm open with them," said Ashbaugh.
