West Chester Elem. School
Educator of the Week - Crowe
West Chester Elementary School second grade teacher Kelly Crowe loves to see her students' excitement when they learn something new.
"I really like seeing as they're learning and the little light bulbs come on and they're raising their hands to answer all the questions," said Crowe. "I enjoy that."
But Crowe was not always a teacher. She started at West Chester as a library assistant before she realized her true calling.
"I started interacting with them, I don't know, I just fell in love with it and decided I wanted to do more with my life and I wanted to be in their life and try to make a difference for them," said Crowe.
Despite working and having a family of her own, Crowe went back to school thanks to the support of other teachers around her.
"I had a couple that were like, 'You really need to go back.' So they talked me into it, they did," said Crowe. "And I'm glad they did."
Now, the third year teacher makes a difference in her students' lives ever single day.
"I think giving them the hugs and listening to them - that makes a connection with the children," said Crowe. "I think I made the right decision. I know I did."
