ALAMO, TN - Crockett County Middle School history teacher Tres Goldsby said teaching was something he never thought he wanted to do.

"My parents were teachers, my aunt, it is kind of in the family. It was one thing I really enjoyed in college. I tried everything but this is really what I wanted to do."

Goldsby said watching his students grow day to day in the material is the most rewarding part of teaching.

"I really enjoy working with the kids and when you can see them catching onto a concept and they really get an understanding of what you're trying to present to them. It really makes it worthwhile."

This educator believes that getting to know his students is a way to help them learn.

"I just try to build relationships with them and make it as fun and exciting as possible as you can with history."

He said as an educator, connecting with his students is the best way to get them involved.

"As an educator you're always looking for ways to encourage the kids and build up their love of learning and make it as exciting as you can."
