NORTHEAST MADISON COUNTY -- This school year's first Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Week is Carolyn Diane Crouch, a career teacher at Nova Elementary.

Crouch has seen thousands of faces during her 45 years of teaching at Nova, but says her job has one purpose.

"I think an educator is a person that strives to help children be the best they can be, achieve at their utmost level," Crouch said.

Crouch is an alumnus of Union University where she earned a bachelor's and Memphis State where she earned her master's degree.

She says students should believe in the skills they can achieve which will allow them to put the best foot forward to do their best in life.

"I still love children, I love my job," Crouch said. "This is like family to me now."
