Free Tune-up For Sleep Apnea Machines

JACKSON, Tenn. -- Many people suffer from sleep apnea, which is a condition where the patient will stop breathing while sleeping, causing them to wake up multiple times during the night.

The CPAP machine is the number one non-surgical fix to sleep apnea, and many who start using a machine can't imagine their life without it.

"I had a history of not being able to sleep through the night without being interrupted. It was loss of air. [I] couldn't breathe." Jason Jackson, a sleep apnea patient, said.

But it wasn't until a doctor visit and a test with the CPAP machine that Jason found relief.

"The snoring immediately quit and I was able to sleep a few hours the first night in the lab with it," Jason said.

"The CPAP machine blows air into your throat and it keeps your throat from collapsing in the night while you're sleeping." Michelle Williams, Respiratory Therapy Manager, said.

Now Jason says he sleep without it.

"For me, using the CPAP has caused me to be able to sleep all the way through the night without any interruptions," Jason said.

Because the CPAP machine is so important for sleep apnea patients, a free CPAP tune up day is coming on April 12.

The respiratory staff will be available to check your machine and make sure it is in good working order.
