It was a sea of red, white and blue at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Saturday, as thousands of flags filled church grounds in honor of those who have served our country.
The Jackson Exchange Club started early Saturday morning putting out 1,100 flags as part of its Flags of Freedom Fundraiser. The group has already raised $21,000 and want to raise more. The flags on display are up for sale. Each flag represents all servicemen including veterans and first responders.
With Memorial Day around the corner, organizers said they wanted to show their appreciation.
"Well pretty simply, we wouldn't be here today doing what we are doing without them. It's the freedom that we enjoy and they have given us that right," said the Jackson Exchange Club President Brian Crockarell.
The flags will be on display for the next three weeks.
