Six indicted on drug charges in West Tennessee
COVINGTON, Tenn. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say six people have been indicted in West Tennessee on drug charges.
The U.S. attorney's office says those indicted are residents of Lauderdale and Tipton counties. The indictments include charges of possessing materials to make methamphetamine, possession of a prescription drug and possession of cocaine with the intent to sell.
Authorities say the charges announced Wednesday in Covington are the result of a partnership between federal authorities and the district attorney for Fayette, Lauderdale and Tipton counties.
If convicted, those charged could face up to 20 years in prison. The sentences get tougher if the defendants have prior drug convictions.
