Missing Child Found, AMBER Alert Cancelled

UPDATE: Nashville, Tenn.- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation AMBER Alert issued on behalf of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office was canceled this afternoon after the subject and child were located traveling in his vehicle in Marion County.

A driver of a tractor trailer spotted the vehicle traveling east on 1-24 through Marion County and contacted authorities. A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper pulled the vehicle over and discovered the child, 2-year-old Cael Whitehead was safe. The subject, Austin Whitehead, who had outstanding warrants on him was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Tennessee Statewide AMBER Alert has been issued for the Houston County Sheriff’s Office for 2- year old Cael Whitehead. Cael was last seen at his residence on January 9, 2013 at approximately 9:00 a.m.

Cael is a 2- year old white male, with blue eyes, brown hair, weighing 35 lbs., and is 2’6”. Clothing description for Cael is currently unknown.

He is believed to be in the company of his father Austin Whitehead. Austin is a 23- year old white male, with green eyes, brown hair, weighing 170 lbs., and is 6’0” tall.

Austin is believed to be traveling in a green, 2003 Pontiac Grand AM with tag # BYQ 0161. Austin has made threats of suicide and may be a danger to others. There are warrants on file for Austin Whitehead. Austin may be en route to the Covington, Georgia area.
