TIPTON COUNTY, Tenn. - Two Tipton County men have been arrested, accused of stealing 45 pounds of copper, about 14 vehicle batteries, an air conditioner unit, and toolbox - all from a landfill last month.
With the help of surveillance video, Tipton County deputies arrested Tyler-Wayne Fleming, 21, and Stephen Duke, 22.
Deputies said they were able to recover the air conditioner and tools, but learned the pair sold the copper and batteries to a local scrap yard.
Both men have been charged with burglary, and theft of property.
Investigators said Duke was also charged with burglary and theft of property for a similar theft at the same landfill back in April.
He remains in jail on $10,000 bond.
