Australian Woman Arrested For Soliciting Jackson Girl

An Australian woman has been arrested in Jackson for sending nude photos of herself to a minor via the Internet.

On Friday morning, a mother contacted Jackson police after she learned that a woman had inappropriate communication with her daughter online.

The police department's Special Investigations Bureau was notified, and Investigators learned that the woman was in Jackson.

Rianne Gysberts, 31, of Frankston, Victoria, arrived around 2 p.m. Friday at McDonald's, located at 1918 U.S. 45 Bypass in Jackson. Investigators were waiting and took Gysberts into custody on the parking lot when she arrived.

The investigation revealed that Gysberts and the girl had been communicating via the Internet for about a month. Gysberts traveled from Australia to Baltimore on an unrelated matter. Gysberts then traveled to Jackson to personally meet the girl.

Investigators will file charges today for solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor for sending the sexually explicit photos. Gysberts will be held at the Madison County Jail.

She will have a bond set Saturday morning by the Jackson City Court Judge. A formal arraignment is anticipated at 8 a.m. Monday in Jackson City Court.
