Four Killed in I-40 Crash

HENDERSON CO., Tenn. - A crash on Interstate 40 in Henderson County killed four people, Tuesday night.

According to the report, Rodney Price, 49, of Mount Airy, NC, and Brian Lederer, 45, of Woodlawn, VA, were the two people in an 18-wheeler who were killed in the crash.

Deborah Whitelow, 41, of Ripley, TN, and Trarell Robinson, 22, of Ripley, were the two people in a passenger vehicle in the wreck.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 10:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 109. Two semi-trucks and a SUV were involved.

Investigators believe a cow was in the eastbound lane which caused the driver of one of the 18-wheelers to swerve and cross the median. The truck crashed into oncoming traffic in the westbound lanes. Another semi-truck, and the SUV were involved. Three men and one woman were killed.
