JACKSON Tenn.- The Jackson Police Department has one man in custody in connection with the double murder of two Jackson men in late April.
Investigators said the Gang Task Force arrested Anthony Montrell Swift, 31, around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on North Royal Street.
Swift has been charged with two counts of first degree murder for the double homicide of Brian Jontez Banes, 31, and Delandis Cortez Clark, 31. Banes and Clark were fatally shot while leaving a graduation party hosted by a Lane College student at Wolfe Enterprises, April 28.
"At the time of his arrest he was found with a loaded .45 caliber revolver, and there were .45 caliber bullets in his pocket," said Lt. Tyreece Miller.
Investigators have not said if the gun found on Swift was the murder weapon.
