Officers: Bemis Couple Charged with Marijuana Trafficking

BEMIS, Tenn. - A Bemis couple is behind bars, after narcotics investigators said they were trafficking marijuana.

On Saturday, narcotics investigators said they intercepted a package containing about 23 pounds of marijuana, that was bound for the home of Chaerish Brice and Yakema Whiteside, who live on Harts Bridge Road.

An undercover officer delivered the package, and searched the couple's apartment, finding about 11 pounds of marijuana and six ecstasy pills.

Both Brice and Whiteside were arrested and charged with possession or marijuana over 20 pounds with intent to sell or distribute, and possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance with intent to sell of distribute.
