Bethel Springs Reinstates Police Dept; Pee Wee Sowell Rehired

MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn.- The City of Bethel Springs has reinstated its police department again after voting to do away with it less than a month ago.

According to the Mayor's office, Bethel Springs alderman including three newly elected alderman voted 5-1 Monday night to reinstate funding for the police department and Chief Pee Wee Sowell.

Back in November, the alderman voted to eliminate the department and use the money to lower sewer bills.
