As the search for missing nursing student Holly Bobo enters yet another week, Decatur County leaders are making sure local resources will be there to assist.

Mayor Michael Smith says the search effort is the county's top priority, and he is working closely with his limited staff to balance overtime and fuel costs on an already depleted budget.

It is estimated by one local leader that is costs an average of $500 a day to operate the Fairgrounds Arena at full capacity. Electricity, water, gas, and labor costs are all factored in.

Another concern is the massive amount of county fuel, powering buses and emergency vehicles.

Mayor Smith says his staff continues to find ways to creatively save the county money, as this unprecedented search rolls on. He says every available resourced is focused on finding Holly Bobo.
