Body Found in Denmark Community Identified

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. - Sheriff's Investigators struggled to identify the body of a man found in Denmark early Thursday morning who was found without identification.

The body of Lazar Arnez Smith, 26, of Jackson was found lying on the edge of the roadway in the 2600 block of Denmark-Jackson Road.

After the family members reviewed the photographs of the tattoos on the body, he was positively identified as Lazar Arnez Smith.

He apparently died from several gunshot wounds.

The body has been transported to the Forensic Center in Nashville to determine the exact cause of death.
