BOLIVAR, Tenn.-More jobs, increased safety and a possible break for taxpayers may not be coming to one West Tennessee city after all.

Earlier this week, the Bolivar City Council voted not to fund a new fire station in west Bolivar.

After 12 years of planning, the city announced plans last month to purchase an old car service center, easily accessible to the highway.

Plans were to open the station by next year.
