Bolivar Teacher Arrested for DUI and Drug Possession
BOLIVAR, Tenn.- Police have arrested and charged Bolivar Central High School Teacher, Braden Kessler, with driving under the influence, marijuana possession, and intent to distribute Xanex. The charges have Bolivar parents concerned.
"He should no longer be a teacher anywhere, in my opinon," said Melissa Russell, a Bolivar parent.
Hardeman County Superintendent, Warner Ross, said the school system has procedures in place to thoroughly check the background of students; and that there was no indication that Kessler used drugs.
Bolivar Police say this is the first time Kessler has been charged. He is expected to appear in court on October 30. He is suspended from teaching pending the outcome of an investigation by police.
