Campers Cheer on Special Needs Baseball Players

By news admin

JACKSON, Tenn. – Players at Thursday’s Special Needs Athletics baseball game got some extra cheers thanks to GO! Campers.

Each year, the participants in GO! Camp create signs and banners for the kids of Special Needs Athletics and come to their Thursday night games to cheer for the kids.

Jackson’s Special Needs Athletics group hosts baseball games each week during the summer as well as other sports throughout the year. Every child gets to play with as much or as little assistance as they need.

Currently, Special Needs Athletics is raising funds to build a $500,000 synthetic rubber baseball field. The City of Jackson has agreed to donate property within the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex for the field.
