Canstruction Underway at Old Hickory Mall

JACKSON, Tenn. - There is a reason to go the Old Hickory Mall, even if you do not like to shop. Eight sculptures made completely out of canned foods are on display as RIFA's Eighth Annual Canstruction Event.

Eight teams, made up of schools, businesses and churches, have built structures you might recognize out of non-perishable foods. Organizers said it took the teams anywhere from two to five hours to build each structure.

Last year's Canstruction competition included more than 19,000 cans of food. The canned creations will be on display through October 18.
Once they are torn down, the food will be donated to RIFA's Food Bank and Soup Kitchen.
