CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. - The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a serious wreck that sent two people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Troopers said it happened along Highway 70 around noon Saturday, just south of Huntingdon.

A 2003 Kia Spectra was going westbound when it hit an embankment, flipped over, and burst into flames when it hit the ground.

The driver and his six-year-old granddaughter were airlifted to the MED in Memphis with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers said both were wearing their seatbelts.

The investigation is ongoing.
