Carroll County on the Road for Pickers

By Caitlyn Jones

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn.- Leaders want people to start "picking" in Carroll County.

A picker is similar to an antiquer who searches for valuable items while some will resell the items to other collectors or online.

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce launched a brochure titled the 'Pickers Path' that maps out every antique store, flea market, and outlet mall in the Carroll County with the hope people will invest in their small businesses. It's also designed to bring more tourists to the count and bring in tax revenue while helping bargain seekers a place to pick through.

Owners of local shops on the guide say they're already seeing an increase in business.

The brochures can be found in rest stops and visitors centers I-40 between Memphis and Nashville.
