LEXINGTON, Tenn.- One Lexington City School student is smiling after winning a scholarship in a rather unique way.

Caywood Elementary School 4th grader, Presley Goff did it by growing a cabbage. In fact, it was a rather huge one. The vegetable weighed in at 18 pounds.

The seedling was provided by Bonnie Seed Company to encourage young students to become interested in agriculture and higher education.

"If you can work together to grow it, then it gets bigger and bigger," said Presley Goff, who had the winning cabbage entry.

Goff won a $1,000 scholarship and was selected from 42,000 in Tennessee who took part in the contest.
