HENDERSON, Tenn. - The 35th annual Chester County Barbecue Festival is underway.

Officials estimate 10,000 people from all over West Tennessee will come to the Chester County Barbecue Festival.

This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Chamber of Commerce.

"All the profits go to the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber works to promote our county and bring businesses and industry," said Emily Johnson, Chester County Chamber of Commerce Director.

The festival takes six months to plan and is run by about 100 volunteers.

Admission is free, but there is a cost for food and rides.

"It is an economic impact driver because people from all over come to our town not only to spend money at the festival but at our local restaurants and our local businesses," said Emily Johnson.

This is the fourth year that Main Street in Downtown Henderson has been shut down for the festival.

Festivities continue thru Saturday night.
