The City of Jackson shut down two lanes on Lafayette Street from Highland Avenue to Shannon Street Saturday. It was all for an egg-travaganza.

More than 300 children came out on the hunt for 10,000 eggs Saturday morning. Children as young as two participated in the Thrive Church's Annual 10,000 Easter Egg Hunt event.

The hunt started early this morning until 2 p.m. Organizers said the event was one for the entire family.

"I think that we in this day and age we want to try and make as many good memories for families, and its a great time in our community that we can sit together and have a good time," said Thrive Church member Angel Halstead.

Along with the Easter Egg Hunt, children enjoyed bouncers and free hot dogs.
