JACKSON, Tenn.-Jackson city councilman Earnest Brooks II kicked off his annual hunger project, Thursday.

The recipient of this year's donations will be the Dream Center.
Currently more than 40 women and children live at the center.
Organizers said it is up to everyone to help those who are less fortunate.

"At a very very base level food and shelter are needed by everyone and it's up to us to help those who are less fortunate,"said Brooks.
