JACKSON, Tennessee- Representatives of a number of city services joined city services, Tuesday to check another area of Jackson, looking for violations of ordinances involving homes an property.
Officials said during the sweeps they found a lot of abandoned cars, tall grass and vacant homes in need of paint and repair.
Department leaders said the sweeps are working since many home and property owners are beginning to comply with city regulations by maintaining their property, resulting in fewer citations into environmental court.
Leaders developed the sweeps in hopes of improving neighborhoods and slowing the spread of crime due to run down lots and houses.
