City first responders duke it out in Battle of the Badges competition
NORTH JACKSON -- Local and state law enforcement and emergency officials are taking part in an effort to help keep the blood supply up across the area.
THP along with Jackson Police Department, Jackson Fire Department, the Madison County Sheriff's Office and medical center EMS are taking part in the annual Battle of the Badges blood drive.
Lifeline Blood Services is hosting the drive to supply hospitals and clinics all across West Tennessee.
"I think it's competitive because we each want to help the community and we each want to do as much as we can and show how much we care about the community," Tommy Ferguson, JPD patrol officer said.
At the time of this writing, JPD is in first place, JFD is second, and there is a tie for third between the MCSO and THP.
