City of Henry Receives Community Development Grant
HENRY, Tenn. - Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam presented a $500,000 check from the Community Development Block Grant to rehabilitate and fund improvements throughout the city of Henry
10 homes on Main, Maple and Railroad Streets,will be brought up to code. The homes are close to the downtown area and will be fully energy efficient.
Governor Haslam said the grant will have an on going impact. "If you're a low income family, not only do you need help to rehabilitate your house but when you do that you save money down the road, so if we can make their house more energy efficient it will save them dollars every month on their energy cost."
The Community Development Block Grant Program uses federal money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
