Commission Votes to Fund Crosswind Runway

Just as the Jackson City Council did earlier this month, Tuesday Madison County Commissioners approved funding for a new runway project at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport.

Commissioners okayed a $95,000 funding request by the airport.
The same amount was approved by the Jackson City Council. The money will be used to build a crosswind runway.

Airport officials said they are set to meet with engineers and the state. Construction should begin in May.
