Investigator David Dowdy told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that the confrontation started over a handgun, that Chandler had reported to the sheriff's department as stolen. According to the report, Chandler believed his neighbors had taken the firearm from his home. The Lunsfords said even with the road dividing their properties, the confrontation has made their home feel uncomfortable.
"It's so horrible, I can't get the picture out of my mind," said Bessie Lunsford. "It's pure hell. Listen, I can't walk out in my front yard, I work in my yard on pretty days and I can't even walk out there."
