JACKSON, Tenn.- A Jackson city council member joins forces with residents, business, churches and social clubs to fight hunger in Jackson.

Councilman Ernest Brooks delivered thousands of canned food items, Friday to be used by clients of the Dream Center.

The center is a transformational ministry for women and their families who are facing loss of employments, housing or crises, leaving them homeless.

Currently, more than 40 women and children live at the center.

"The Dream Center is here 365 days a year and so this food alone is gonna help us get through those months when giving is not such big thing," said Gail Gustafson, executive director of The Dream Center.

Councilman Brooks said the effort is one way residents can say they are thankful for what they have during this holiday season.
