DAR Celebrates National Day of Prayer
JACKSON, Tenn. - The Jackson-Madison Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution remembered the founding of the historic organization with a day of prayer.
The Daughters of the American Revolution invited leaders of the community to the First Presbyterian Church for a hour of prayer, Thursday.
Several residents prayed for Jackson-Madison County first responders, teachers and commissioners.
"We have the people that are making the decisions for us as people, citizens of this country and we even had families represented today we had children. Children are the future of this country," said Sherry Taylor.
The National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism and preserve American history.
