Dignity Closet Collecting Underwear for Patients

7 Eyewitness News Staff

JACKSON, Tenn. - A Jackson hospital needs your help replenishing the dignity closets in the emergency department, and furnishing needs for the pediatrics unit.

The Jackson-Madison County General Hospital has set up collection boxes for the entire month of July to help the cause.

Workers are asking for new underwear for all ages. The donations will be used to help victims of sexual and domestic abuse.

Officials said all kinds of people will be helped through the donations.

"It's not unusual for people to be here either from an auto accident, or just any different situation that would bring them in to our organization without changes of clothing or the things they need to stay there," said Katie Chandler, Director of Guest Resources.
