JACKSON, Tenn.- Jackson's version of Mardi Gras kicked off in downtown Jackson, Tuesday.
Jackson's annual Mardi Gras parade weaved its way through the streets of downtown. A full-day of festivities capped off four days of Mardi Gras events.
The parade was led by this year's king and queen, Josh Smith and Diane Johns. Revelers of all ages lined the street and were rewarded with beads, candy and Moon Pies.
"Just seeing all the different colors, seeing the king and queen, seeing everybody smiling and having fun, ' said Patty Spry, a parade watcher.
"Oh, it's just fun to be with the crowd and see the folks go by on the floats, it's just fun, It makes me think of real Mardi Gras that I've gone to on several occasions," Donna Turner, another parade watcher.
WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Reporter Natalie Potts not only reported on the Mardi Gras parade earlier Tuesday, but helped with the celebration.
